« back to classes page
Our ancient ancestors were master bush crafters. Living in Colorado we have access to 3.5 million acres of federally protected wilderness. Many of us have spent time camping and hiking throughout Colorado but how many of us could survive in this wilderness if we became lost or stranded? Wilderness Survival 101 teaches skills and strategies for dealing with unexpected and adverse circumstances. We will cover topics including: first aid, water sourcing and purification, navigation using a map and compass, fire craft, rope and knot skills, cooking methods, shelter building, 72-hour bags, clothing choices, food sources and the gear and tools necessary to survive in the wilderness.
