Spanish is recognized both as a local language with a long and rich history in the United States and as a global language spoken by millions of people around the world. This course introduces students to the Spanish language so that they can develop proficiency on a basic level. While focusing on vocabulary, phrases, and literacy practices, students will also be immersed in Spanish-speaking cultures such as Spain, Mexico and Central America. Students will learn differences in values, attitudes and actions as they investigate different cultures through hands-on activities and crafts.
