Hands on Herbalism
ID :
17992
« back to classes page
Learn how to begin buying and creating your own herbal formulas and products. This class will dive into important questions about plant harvesting, preparation, dosage, and use. Students will make basic preparations of locally grown herbs to create a tea and tincture to take home.
We will be diving deep into important questions to ask before using a plant. Such as:
What part of the plant is being used?
When was the plant harvested?
How is the plant being prepared?
What dose is appropriate for the situation?
What group of constituents from the plant am I looking for?
We will be making some basic preparations of herbs you find in Colorado and can grow in your own yard. Herbalism is accessible financially and geographically.
Most materials will be provided in class. Students will need to bring a tea cup for tasting teas and 2-pint jars for making vinegar and tinctures. Herbal book recommendations will be given.
