Immerse yourself in the world of American Sign Language while developing essential vocabulary and conversation skills in this beginner-level class. You'll be introduced to the fundamentals of Deaf culture and the community that uses ASL to communicate.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This class is being offered to both credit and non-credit students. All students will follow the same curriculum and complete the same projects. Attendance is essential not only to the learning environment but for the community of the classroom experience for all students.

This class follows the syllabus for ASL 1101: Basic Sign Language I. Students will receive access to D2L, the online learning platform used in this class, 1-2 business days prior to the start of class.

The American Sign Language Conversation booklet (ISBN ISBN 13 : 9781423228554) is recommended.
