Professional Dog Trainer Part I

Through classroom and hands-on practice, you'll learn how to help the pet dog community understand their dogs and how to best nurture them for long-term companionship. Focus will be on canine body language, communication, behavior modification, dog training techniques, learning theory, cooperative care, how to coach humans, and different career options.

Created by Angela Murray CBCC-KA, UW-AAB, and offered exclusively by Continuing Education at Aims Community College, this two-part program prepares you to successfully pass the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) exam. CCPDT is the leading independent certifying organization for the dog training profession.

Sign up for Part I and Part II separately or as a whole to receive a discount. Students can register for a semester at a time for $999 or for the full program (fall and spring semester) for $1899. Contact continuingeducation@aims.edu for assistance registering for the full program.

Students will be required to complete a Volunteer Waiver for the Animal Friends Alliance prior to beginning the hands-on practice portion of the course. See instructor or email continuingeducation@aims.edu for details.

Students will be required to select a minimum number of practice sessions to attend on either Friday or Saturday or may choose to attend all practice sessions.
